2023 Autumn Fête

2023 AUTUMN FÊTE

Our mission is to strengthen local communities by ushering in a generation of healthy families regardless of their socioeconomic status.

Our purpose is to provide low-cost, high-quality, experienced, accessible perinatal care for families. We train women of color to become holistic perinatal providers including CLC/IBCLCs, midwives and more. There is a great disparity when it comes to providers of color and we want to mend that gap in efforts to lower maternal death rates for the communities most at risk.

Our Goals:

+ Decrease infant and maternal mortality rates

+ Increase breastfeeding success rates in the Tulsa Metroplex

+ Increase age of breastfeeding to match the World Health Organization (WHO) recommendation of 2 years of age or older

ATTEND THE FÊTE

But if there are any poor in your towns when you arrive in the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not be hard-hearted or tightfisted toward them. Instead, be generous and lend them whatever they need... Give generously to the poor, not grudgingly, for the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do.

Rebuilding Black Wall Street | Watch Party

Join us by watching on OWN at home with us on Friday, September 29 at 8pm CST to watch the premier episode of Rebuilding Black Wall Street featuring our Greenwood descendant and founder, Montika Collins and our beautiful new Women’s Health Oasis - Given. If you aren’t able to watch live, please record and watch later!

About the show: the series will follow Chestnut and build teams, led by designers Jon Pierre and Mary Tjon-Joe-Pin (Two Steps Home), as they take viewers through Greenwood’s rich history and the personal journeys of those featured – many of whom are the descendants of original Black Wall Street residents – over the course of six episodes. As new businesses and projects progress, viewers will experience the physical and emotional challenges that come with large-scale construction and celebrate the promise of Greenwood’s future.

On May 31, 1921, Tulsa’s Greenwood District, also referred to as Black Wall Street — a community where Black leaders and entrepreneurs and homeowners thrived, was destroyed by mobs in what has been called the single most horrific incident of racial terrorism since slavery. An estimated 300 people were killed, more than 1,200 homes destroyed, and at least 60 businesses and community buildings burned to the ground.

Innovations Family Wellness’ founder and Tulsa Race Massacre descendant Montika Collins participates as she hopes to create North Tulsa’s only natural birthing center and return the tradition of midwifery to the Greenwood District.

Lift Every Baby 2023

8TH ANNUAL LIFT EVERY BABY CELEBRATION

Instead, we were like young children among you. Just as a nursing mother cares for her children, so we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.

Innovations Family Wellness seeks to strengthen families by creating a healthy family from the inside out. The health benefits of breastfeeding are widely known, “Breast milk is uniquely suited to the infant’s nutritional needs and is a live substance with unparalleled immunological and anti-inflammatory properties that protect against a host of illnesses and diseases for both mothers and children.”. 1 However, many women do not know how to troubleshoot issues that arise, thus ending their journey early. Our goal is to help mamas receive the service and education they need and deserve at a price they can afford. In order to achieve our goals, we need sponsorships and donations from you!
